This pool drop run is sixteen miles long with a gradient of 31 feet per mile and is located in an isolated gorge. Things are pretty calm at the beginning of a trip in "the Box" but after some miles of rapids that are easy enough to prepare for and handle, things start speeding up and soon, you're in Class III rapids in the heart of New Mexico.
